Here’s to another gorgeous in the books and celebrating some of our sweetest friends’ wedding day. Everything about Emily + Ryan’s best day ever was lovely, from the gorgeous, rustic barn venue (shout out to The Enchanted Barn in Hillsdale, Wisconsin), to the whimsy blooms and sherbet ranunculus (which were inspired by a girl’s trip to the ranunculus fields of California and the bride’s favorite bloom), to the prettiest color palette and every detail in between. I loved watching the bride’s dreams and vision come to life! Emily is one of my closest friends and also a creative, so we have been dreaming up this wedding together from the very beginning, and of course, we couldn’t stop happy dancing together as she watched her dream wedding unfold!

We have so many favorite moments, from the bridesmaids reaction as they saw the bride in her dress (Emily, you are so loved!), to the groom’s reaction during their first look, to the bride and groom’s exchange of the sweetest vows, and the most perfect golden hour light (literally such a dream, watching the sunset over the rolling hills and valleys of the Wisconsin countryside). We adore these two – they are full of joy, compassion, celebrate every ounce of life and are always up for any adventure. 

Let me tell you just one more reason why I love the adventurous couples, like Emily and Ryan. They were so sweet to follow me through the weeds and into the tall grasses, because let’s be honest, the process isn’t always as glamorous as the product. Just as we found the perfect spot for couples portraits, we looked down to find poison ivy scattered through the weeds. But, you want to know the best thing about these two? They just giggled and embraced the moment, cautiously aware of the ivy surrounding us, as they continued to rock their portraits. As we finished their gorgeous portraits, this sweet groom picked up his bride to carry her through the field, taking his “protector” role very seriously – don’t worry, we were all left unharmed by the poison ivy, and now we have a story to tell!
